Down Syndrome Indiana is a not-for-profit organization serving the needs of individuals with Down syndrome and their families. DSI is supported by a dedicated board of directors, a full-time staff member and countless volunteers. The programs and services provided by Down Syndrome Indiana are supported totally by individual and corporate donations combined with annual fund raisers and special events.

Down Syndrome Indiana is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with Down syndrome. Our mission is to serve as a conduit of information, support and advocacy for individuals with Down syndrome and their families, which promotes growth and inclusion in the community.
Vision
Down Syndrome Indiana is committed to supporting individuals with Down syndrome throughout their lifetime by: promoting self advocacy, inclusion and participation in the community, being the most comprehensive resource on Down syndrome, serving as the state leader for public policy advocacy, and increasing positive public awareness.
History
Down Syndrome Indiana began with one mother's efforts to create awareness about Down syndrome through the sale of a calendar. Soon, a small group of moms joined forces to form a group dedicated to creating awareness and providing assistance to individuals with Down syndrome and their families. From that "dining room" beginning grew an organization of more than 1600 individuals who give countless hours of energy and passion to endeavoring to make life better for children and adults with Down syndrome.
Description
Down Syndrome Indiana is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3, non-member organization serving the needs of individuals with Down syndrome along with their families, caregivers, teachers and employers. We are supported by a dedicated Board of Directors, a full time Executive Director, two staff persons, and numerous volunteers.Down Syndrome Indiana offers a wide variety of resources for families and medical professionals. In addition, Down Syndrome Indiana coordinates active support groups to connect families. We host several events throughout the year. Some events are fundraising activities that support not only the Indiana organization as well as national research efforts. Other events are usually recreational or social in nature. The programs and services of the organization are supported totally by individual and corporate donations, grants and special events.
